GCSE Drama
This is a creative course that gives students the opportunity to gain a GCSE in the devising and performing of drama. GCSE Drama follows on from work done at Key Stage 3 but allows students to develop improvisation and acting skills to a higher level. Students will be expected to demonstrate an understanding of the elements and medium of drama and put the work they create in an historical, social, and cultural context. The course consists of:
- Two practical workshops supported by written notebooks of evidence, which evaluate the devising process and present an exploration of text. Assessment by class teacher.
- A performance to an audience which may be either devised or scripted. Assessment by visiting examiner.

You will extend your ability to create drama and theatre, either in a performing or production role. You will also have the opportunity to write about drama and to develop your powers of analysis to become an informed critic.
