Mission
Our mission is to inspire every student to succeed… and to fulfil their potential through challenging outdoor experiences.
Provision
Macmillan Academy has a unique outdoor learning curriculum that develops, supports and enhances the prospects for our students.
Contribution
To contribute to the Academy curriculum by increasing…“learning outside the classroom” and “learning by doing”
Qualifications
To provide a range of national awards, qualifications, skills and experiences to enable students to :
- Learn to Learn
- Learn to Live
- Learn to Work
Facilities
To develop outdoor learning facilities at the Academy, including a new climbing wall & ropes course. These will increase opportunities for a practical and vocational learning curriculum.
Experience
To provide an enhanced range of enrichment activities and clubs, e.g. Sailing, horse riding, mountain biking. On the rock, on the hill, in the ground and on the water.
Development
We will build and expand on our residential provision at home and abroad. We will work in partnership with the highest quality providers in the UK, such as Outward Bound.
