On Friday 25th April, students who had successfully completed their Young Librarian Training Scheme attended an Awards Ceremony at Egglescliffe School. Macmillan Academy was one of a number of schools across the county who have taken part in this scheme. Students were presented with their certificates by Gervase Phinn, who is a best selling author, retired school inspector and public speaker.

Wanted New Young Librarians
If you are willing to help regularly in the I.C. then you could gain library, information and customer care skills. You can help in the day-to-day running of the I.C., for example by issuing and returning books on the computer, through helping other students with their enquiries, by shelving books and shelf tidying. Students will be awarded a certificate on completion of set tasks and worksheets. If you think you might be interested in taking part in this scheme then please come along to the I.C. for a chat with Mrs. Burns.
